One plan, one hour

What autism support looks like in a session

Autism support here is not four clinics. One plan covers communication, behaviour, learning and the school ask. The hour itself is still one skill, stopped while it is going well.

Speech, behaviour, learning — one plan, not four waiting rooms.

Who you actually see

Mahnoor leads the first assessment and keeps the plan. Speech hours with her. ABA hours with Noor and Atika. School-readiness with Akasha. Psychology with Salman when feelings or family work lead. Pillar: autism support. How Mahnoor works: autism with Mahnoor.

The shape of the hour

You describe the week. We pick the skill that unlocks the most — a request, a sit, a recovery from a change — and practise it in play. The same skill should show up in the next hour of a different type, not be reinvented. Parent coaching is inside the hour, not a handout at the door.

What we will not sell

A cure. A programme whose only goal is eye contact. A promise that they will be “indistinguishable”. Autism is a lifelong difference. We plan around the child in front of us. Related: autism, myths and facts.

One plan, not four appointments

The note goes into the same record every therapist here works from. Contact owner Muhammad Salman Afzal first. Pillar: autism support.

The idea behind the work (in the books)

Open with what they already love, slip one goal into it, coach you to do the same at home.

  • Schreibman et al. — NDBI

Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral Interventions sit in real play, follow the lead, then stretch one more turn. That is the shape of this hour. We do not run a branded NDBI package.

  • Prizant — Uniquely Human

Regulation first. Stimming that is not harming anyone is not a target. Eye contact is not the goal.

These are teaching ideas, named so you can look them up. Naming a book is not a claim that we run a certified programme of that name — if we do not, the page says so.

What the research tells us

This isn’t just our opinion — it’s grounded in published research. Here are a few findings from trusted, independent sources:

  • NICE CG170 recommends a play-based social-communication intervention with parents, carers and teachers to increase joint attention, engagement and reciprocal communication, adjusted to the child’s developmental level. For pre-school children it recommends parent mediation.

    — NICE Clinical Guideline CG170 — Autism spectrum disorder in under 19s: support and management. View source
  • A Cochrane review of early intensive behavioural intervention found improvements in adaptive behaviour, learning and language compared with standard care, and did not find evidence that it reduced autism symptom severity. The work teaches skills. It is not a treatment for autism itself.

FAQ

A session — questions parents ask

Do I need a diagnosis first?

No. A worry is enough. Diagnosis sits with a paediatrician or psychiatrist when it is needed.

Will my child see the same person?

As far as we can. The plan is shared, so a change of adult is not a change of story.

Is this ABA only?

No. ABA is one tool inside the plan, not the whole programme.

How do we start?

A consultation is Rs 1,500 and lasts up to 50 minutes. “Bacha bulane par nahi mudta” is a complete first sentence.

Do I stay in the room?

With younger children, yes. Then we fade you the same way we fade a prompt.
