Classroom readiness
Classroom readiness is a group sit, instructions in pieces, and a one-page list a Pakistani teacher can try for ten days. Not a Western IEP copied onto a page.

What to ask the teacher
Seat facing the teacher. Instructions in pieces. A warning before a change. The letter to school and classroom support are the parent guides. IEPs: Mahnoor on IEPs.
Who writes the classroom piece
Mahnoor’s plan. Akasha’s hours. You carry the letter. Related: special education.
Asks a Pakistani teacher can try for ten days
Seat facing the teacher, away from the door. Instructions in pieces. Shorten the copying. Warn before a change. A quiet landing after break. None of this requires a new teacher. It requires one adult who will try them for ten school days and tell you what happened.
Speech and language in class need different asks: extra time to answer, the question repeated once, not copying while still listening. A child who “does not follow instructions” often heard only the first one. DLD.
When the school will not try
A dated one-page trial is harder to wave away than a conversation. We still write it. Sometimes a smaller setting is kinder this year: mainstream or special.
What to ask this week
Seat facing the teacher. Instructions in pieces. A warning before a change. Pages: letter to school, classroom support.
The idea behind the work (in the books)
A Pakistani teacher with thirty children can try a one-page list for ten days. A twelve-page Western IEP sits in a drawer.
Tomlinson — differentiation
The same lesson at more than one height: spoken answer, less copying, mark the content. That is the letter to school.
NICE CG170 — teacher mediation
For school-aged children, consider teacher mediation of social-communication strategies. The one-page list is that mediation.
What the research tells us
This isn’t just our opinion — it’s grounded in published research. Here are a few findings from trusted, independent sources:
NICE CG170 recommends a play-based social-communication intervention with parents, carers and teachers to increase joint attention, engagement and reciprocal communication, adjusted to the child’s developmental level. For pre-school children it recommends parent mediation.

View sourceBlair and Raver (Annual Review of Psychology, 2015) treat school readiness as self-regulation — holding a rule, waiting, switching — which sets the stage for letters and numbers rather than replacing them.

Classroom — questions parents ask
The school will not try anything.
A dated one-page trial is easier to refuse than a conversation. We still write it. A smaller setting is sometimes kinder this year — mainstream or special.
They know letters but cannot last the group.
Then letters are not the gap. Sitting is. See sitting and waiting.
Do you write US-style IEPs?
Punjab does not run those in every private school. The useful version here is a one-page list. Mahnoor on IEPs.
The school will not try anything.
Write a dated one-page trial anyway. A smaller setting is sometimes kinder this year — mainstream or special.
